NCKU Google Workspace (Former name: G Suite) Space Policy Changes

Description:

  1. Google Workspace, which was originally free space, has only provided 100TB of free space since July 1, 2022.
  2. In response to the impact of Google's reduction in space, the Network and Computer Center announced the first account space reduction plan at the end of December 2021, reducing the space for each account to 100GB.
  3. The second account space reduction plan will be implemented from now on since the total usage of school still exceeds the free space. The regulations are as follows:
    • (1) Provide 100GB of space per account for faculty.
    • (2) Provide 15GB of space per account for students.
    • (3) Provide 5GB of space per account for alumni. (It is recommended to use the forwarding function to transfer mail to a private mailbox.)
  4. Account will be suspended from Mar 1, 2023 if the used space exceeds the third point above, and will be deleted if there is no follow-up processing. We recommend the users trasfer their data as soon as possible.
  5. The "Shared Drives" function in Google Drive (Cloud Drive) will be disabled on Mar 1, 2023. If you use this function to share data, please move the data to "My Drive" as soon as possible, and then use "Share" to share them.
  6. Provide Google meet functions such as video recording, meeting with more than 100 people, attendance tracking, etc. to  faculty.
  7. Provide extra account and space to Administation and Academics offices, if necessary. For details, please contact service counter #61010.
