VDI service

Introduction

The VDI is a latest cloud computing technology. Users from all faculty members and students of the University can directly connect to our school’s licensed software through VDI service without installing the software on devices (such as PCs, tablets, mobile phones, etc.) This service is widely used in the cloud of computer facilities, reducing the equipment cost and utilizing the resources efficiently. According to the “Management Guidelines for NCKU Cloud Computing Service”, a user charge is applied to our VDI Service, and the charges are approved by the Computer and Network Committee.

Eligible users

This service applies to all faculty members and students of the University and can help you with the following matters:

  • need to set a large amount of software in computer classroom.
  • need to access school’s licensed software frequently.
  • need to build the cloud computer for old devices.

Features

  • Reduce the replacement cost: Save the facilities replacement cost
  • Extend machinery life: Permit old computers to run high performance software systems.
  • Reduce managed workload: Provide high availability service and reduce troubleshooting issues.
  • High-bit-rate network: Provide 10 GB bandwidth.
  • High performance storage service: Use "All Flash" storage for high performance and system security.

Charges

  • According to the "Management Guidelines for NCKU Cloud Computing Service", a user charge is applied to our VDI Service and we offer the trail discount for the first year (2019/1/1~2019/12/31).
