What should I do if I connect to the network but still cannot access the internet?

A
  1. Is the network cable loose? Please check both the computer end and the room’s network socket to ensure they are securely connected.

  2. Make sure your computer’s IP and DNS settings are set to obtain automatically.

  3. If your computer is using a proxy or VPN, please disable them.

  4. Try using a different network cable. Avoid using flat cables or cables that are too long (which can affect the signal) to rule out cable issues.

  5. If you are using an adapter, first make sure the adapter is working properly and that the adapter drivers are installed correctly. You can cross-test the adapter with your roommate’s network to confirm.

  6. If you are using a Wi-Fi router, check to make sure it is working properly by cross-testing it with your roommate’s network.

  7. Make sure you are connected to the wired network in your room, not to a different wireless network.

If you have tried all of the above steps and still have issues, it may be that the network port in your room is damaged. Please email your name, student ID number, room number (including dormitory name), phone number, and the times you will be in the dormitory to dormnet@ncku.edu.tw.
